WHO WE ARE
1001 Stories co-founders Shahrzad Moaven and Tereza Pigova met whilst completing a footwear design course at the London College of Fashion. They were instantly drawn to each other’s vision of creating products that delight in design and fulfill in purpose.
Sharing a strong passion for walking, they spent hours striding and strategizing their journey in creating 1001 Stories - a brand with a very simple and clear mission, to create beautiful statement shoes whilst supporting skilled artisan communities out of poverty and into business.
TEREZA has triumphed in helping businesses grow, thrive and expand globally. After graduating from London School of Economics in 2010, she began her career in consulting. It was then that she noticed how difficult it was to find stylish yet comfortable women's shoes. Having a passion for consumer goods and a desire to have an impact, she swapped her secure corporate job to join a young fast growing company in London. Here she learnt what it takes to be a pioneer and create a whole new category from scratch. She launched and established a household beverage brand in several European markets and later in the USA. This journey gave her the courage to pursue her life-long goal of starting a company of her own. Relocating from Silicon Valley to London, Tereza is finally making her dream come true - giving women a new sense of confidence - one pair at a time.
SHAHRZAD has worked with clients big and small around the world. She designed for Nike whilst completing her degree at Central Saint Martins and hasn’t slowed down since. Her love for design and intrigue to learn how to build a sustainable business led her to promote other people’s stories. She has clasped a 5 million dollar diamond necklace on an Oscar winner, captured the hearts of journalists from Vogue to CNN, organized events in curious and wonderful settings from Frank Zappa’s recording studio to a 205 ft yacht in Monaco and has even kicked a football with Gisele. With over fourteen years of experience, creating brand content for some of the world’s leading luxury fashion and jewelry houses, she has finally decided to fulfill her ultimate ambition of launching her own brand.
